Noreen Patricia Guether of Beachwood passed away at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ on March 28, 2015 at the age of 73 after a brave battle with lung cancer that spread to her spine and brain.

Noreen was born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was the daughter of the late John and Bella (Gursky) Connors. Noreen continued to live in Perth Amboy after marrying her husband, the late Ronald Guether, before moving to Beachwood in 1976. Noreen Patricia Guether of Beachwood passed away at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ on March 28, 2015 at the age of 73 after a brave battle with lung cancer that spread to her spine and brain.

Noreen was born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ. She was the daughter of the late John and Bella (Gursky) Connors. Noreen continued to live in Perth Amboy after marrying her husband, the late Ronald Guether, before moving to Beachwood in 1976. Noreen and Ronald celebrated 50 years of marriage in July 2013, the month that Ronald passed away.

Noreen will be lovingly remembered by her son Eric and wife Rachel of Holmdel and her grandsons Ryan and Kevin. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Mark and Lisa Piechocinski, Daria Snyder, Diana Borg, and Richard Guether as well as by several cousins and brother-in-law Richard Guether and his wife Dolores of Mechanicsburg, PA.

She was a proud graduate of Perth Amboy High School and the Charles E. Gregory School of Nursing in Perth Amboy. In the early 1970s, Noreen juggled work and family while earning her bachelor's degree at Jersey City State College.

Noreen worked 15 years as a registered nurse (RN) at Perth Amboy General Hospital until 1977, including a number of years as emergency room RN supervisor on overnight shifts. Noreen then served 27 years as an elementary school nurse for the Toms River Schools, the first two years at Cedar Grove Elementary and then 25 years at North Dover Elementary.

Noreen was an avid reader and lover of books. Her other interests included genealogy and Mahjong.

Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 1, from 6 to 8pm at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Services are 10:00am Thursday, April 2, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
